Here are 6 effective post holi detox tips

    1. Eat homemade food: All the fried, spicy treats from the Holi parties have a tendency to throw your digestion out of order. Eating fresh light food helps settle the system while energising you with nutrients your body is craving.

    2. Feed the gut: Have homemade curd, buttermilk, yoghurt and other probiotic drinks to keep the gut healthy. Fill your stomach with coconut water, lemon water and fruits.

    3. Ditch Caffeine: Avoid alcohol completely, even caffeine must be consumed in moderation(1 cup of tea/coffee in the day). Rather you can consume herbal teas like chamomile tea, peppermint tea, hibiscus tea etc.

    4. Work out: Working out is important. Working out will not only help in the removal of unwanted toxins but will also help you lose the water you have retained due to binge eating and alcohol consumption.

    5. Take rest: Sleep, sleep and sleep. The one thing that revives the entire system is a good rest. Quality is better than quantity. Science tells us that the cycle of sleep is related to light and darkness.

    6. Hydrate yourself: Drink enough water as you are looking to detoxify your body. Add flavour to your water by adding fresh fruits, lemon wedges, mint leaves and herbs.
